Dinner in a department store. This was a unique project, and we collaborated with Tara of Sugarcomb to transform the space. Macy’s in downtown Seattle, hosted an in-store dinner with Tom Douglas and his crew. Guests were invited to watch a cooking demonstration then sit down to a multi-coursed meal.

Tara & I dreamed up a lavish table setting. To begin, Tara pipe & draped the space for a more intimate feel. Sugarcomb also creates custom paper goods, and designed menu cards for each place setting. Rich blue velvet linens were brought in from La Tavola as well as handsome gold flatware. I complimented the tabletops & meal with seasonal fall foliage, berries, blooms & pumpkins. The tall statement pieces were composed entirely of smokebush & beauty berry.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t dim the overhead brights and bring in candlelight. But the banquet style tables really brought the focus to what’s important: the food, floral & people you meet while enjoying a meal together.
